1st of July, the beginning of the legendary tournament
So,
I enjoyed this chapter quite a lot.
Rinji mentions at the beginning that this tournament is just like Online Mahjong, and I didn't even think about it, but it's true.
First place gets a point while last place loses one point. It's almost the same as the last-place avoidance Mahjong Rinji knows so well.
The difference is that here are no "Dan" ranks, it's actually just a race for the most first places and least last places.
We know already that Rinji is an Iron-Defense monster when it comes to avoid last place, but will he have the offensive power to take enough first places to be the overall winner?
We will see.
Meanwhile, in the world of Online Mahjong, Inasaku is trying to find Canon-G, the AI, in order to protect his much cherished 10-dan rank.
However it turns out it's playing at a lower-skill table. That doesn't sound like an AI at all to me.
And surely enough, once Canon-G loses to scrubs, it's revealed it was actually Doctor Kannonji's daughter all along.
Her name is Kanon, she seems to be a genius using her intellect on mind-games.
She also seems to be a Hikikomori secluded near a beautiful forest. It's revealed she is suicidal, but why, I do not know.
Anyway, I officially declare that Kanon is my waifu. Hands off! : P
