The End of The Worst Year 2016 Special

Hi, dear readers,

We wish you a Late-Merry Christmas and an Early-Happy New Year!!

I know it kinda sucks we skipped last weekend, but you can think of it as spacing Kirinji a bit out so when we're done with volume five we can pick right off with volume six so there's no downtime. And we all were really busy last weekend, hope you understand!

So here's a long-awaited Koizumi chapter as compensation!

We will start using Google-Drive for our uploads instead of Mediafire, because Mediafire has been giving us trouble. All of the chapters our group has done have been transferred there, but the old Mediafire links should still work.

What to say at the end of 2016, it was a crazy year for sure, for both the world, and our group. 2017 can only get better. You can expect some good news regarding Tohai! I think it's kind of befitting to end the year with our two flagship series upon which our group was built.

We wish you all the best in the next year, thanks once again for reading our work, all the support we have received, and all the kind words!

Lion's Ridge Almost Winter Update

Hey,

This is a first for us, two different series in one post!

I wanted to write a really long update post summarizing what we've been up to lately and what our plans are for the future. But I find myself incredibly tired again. So I'll make it short this time and save the real update post for winter.

We will do Kirinji weekly since a marathon is not feasible for me anymore now that I have a job and it also doesn't make much sense to rush the whole volume and then wait around 3 months for a new volume to come out. We will try to spread the chapters so that we won't have to wait long for the next volume.

As of Tohai, with this chapter that we release today, I really start getting into the story of this series. I really want to translate the first twelve volumes covered by the J-drama as fast as possible so we can start working on the second part of the series. The bottleneck for Tohai is simply cleaning. The pages are incredibly hard to clean and WhITelion has a hard time with them. If there's any cleaners interested in Tohai who would like to help out, please let us know!

Regarding Ant King, I know I haven't made a release in quite a while but I don't plan on dropping the series even though it's the black sheep of our group. It's also a nice change for me to work on something that isn't mahjong related. There isn't a lot of volumes out in Japan anyway, so there's no rush. I'll probably do one chapter soonish.

Koizumi is xGeo's department, and I think the pace is decent enough, so nothing to add there.

Hey guys,

I'm so sorry, it's very hard for me to work on our releases without a computer or laptop. Here's a Koizumi release xGeo and WhITelion worked on while my hands are bound.

As a temporary solution for this situation, I'll be borrowing a laptop once a week so I can keep working on our series. I have no problems translating the chapters on my phone, but cleaning and typesetting is impossible.

If there's a cleaner/typesetter who wants to help out, that would also be a great solution for us until I buy a proper laptop here.

Anyway, thanks for your patience guys, hiatus won't take longer than my first salary or second at worst, when I can finally buy a machine to work on.

Lion's Ridge Autumn Update

Hello,

Sorry for this unusual silence on our blog even though we've been releasing chapters regularly the last six months.

We will release an Ant King chapter I've been working on soon and after that we'll take a short hiatus.
I'm moving tomorrow. After I settled in the new city and once I get a bit used to my new life, we'll work out a new regular schedule for our releases.

In other news, the author of Kirinji said the new volume should be out in November, so it's not too far away until we finally get some Kirinji action again!

That's it for now, sorry again for the hiatus, hope you understand. I can't wait to get back to scanlation, I miss making releases.

xGeo has been busy with the Pacific Mahjong League, WhITelion is busy with school and I have been chasing Tenhouis in 7447 and preparing for moving.
We got only King of the Ants for now, but a new Tohai should be out soon, hopefully now we can get back to our usual pace again. If not, we will look for solutions.

I have finally finished King of the Ants Volume 1 Part 1. This release was a bit longer so it took me a bit longer to finish.

In this release King of the Ants starts getting gory, so a warning to our usual readers who enjoy Kirinji, Koizumi, Aki etc.

I also had some trouble translating this since I have an aversion to gore and violence, but I trust the author of Kirinji to make a good story.

Here's the update.

First of all... I'm speechless. Thanks so much to everyone who donated, people caring about our group surviving is so flattering, I really don't know how to respond. Not only did we meet our goal, but there's an extra 69€ for some leeway as I travel to a foreign country.

>Super special shoutout and thanks to Sol Falling, who was been supporting us from the very beginning. He paid for my bills before anyone else, and he's the one who made our Tohai releases possible, so I just have to make this clear, once and for all:

Rather than words, I'll show my gratitude to our readers with work. Expect many, many, many chapters to come.
I felt really terrible these last days, and I promise we will never ask for help again.

I will update our blog when I finally move to Brno.

Update on our series:

Tetsunaki no Kirinji Kabukichou Seiatsu Hen has around ~12 more chapters out in Kinma right now and the "Lyndon Lyndon Arc" is over. Our plan is to wait for Volume 5 (It could happen anywhere from 4-6 months), but if there is a Kinma subscriber who has the last 12 magazines and is ready to scan them and send them to us, that would also be really nice!

Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku is still xGeo's domain, so whenever he has free time, he'll work on it.

Tohai is in the hands of WhITelion, he's the only one who can handle those terrible RAWs we've got right now. At best you can expect a Tohai chapter every 2-3 days.

In the meantime, since I'm the only one with free time right now I will work on:

King of the Ants:

This is another successful series by the author of Kirinji, which is a shounen, action manga called "King of the Ants", even though I translated that as "Ant King" in Kirinji... Yes, it's a reference to Arino from Kirinji, but I'm really disappointed that the publishing house is going for "King of the Ants". Do they even know about the tight horizontal text box space?

So here's our first King of the Ants chapter, I know it's not fitting our group, but it's something I can work on myself while our other group members are busy with real life.

See it as a gift from me, personally, to all of our supporters. Hope you will enjoy it in one way or another.

All of our other releases will come out as soon as they're ready.

Surprise!!! We actually got volume four a day earlier than the day of its official release and worked hard to manage to release it on the same day as Japan's official release (Barely, it's almost the 16th of July here and the official release date is 15th of July).

Getting the volume wasn't easy, it's a very long and complicated story, but the conclusion is: Thanks to NotLemon/Katyusha for helping us out, otherwise we would have had to wait for 2 more weeks before we could have worked on this. Check out his website and their group:

We will be alternating between Kirinji and Aki for a while with a Koizumi release whenever xGeo feels like it (´◣д◢`+) (j/k, <3), so it's not a marathon.

Also there's less than a month left before I have to go pick up my visa, so please consider donating anything, it's really my life that's at stake. Or if anyone wants to give me an informal loan I'd pay back by 6 months? I'd promise to pay it back, or if there's a way to make an internet contract? Since in this country loans don't exist. Kirinji Summer Cleaning

Hello,

While waiting for volume four we decided this is the perfect time to go through all of our Kirinji releases and check for some aesthetic improvements, typos, additional T/Ns, and minor mistranslations.

It's regrettable we had to do this in the first place, but please don't forget that we weren't as experienced back then, Kirinji was our first series.

We replaced all the links in our Download page with the fixed chapters, if you just want to download the fixed chapters those would be: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 26, 27, 35, 42.

Lion's Ridge Summer Mega Update

Sorry, I've been busy these last days completing my visa application. That said, I finally submitted my application successfully, after some side-adventures of "Officially Licensed Translator mistranslated your documents even though you paid 50€ for 5 pages" and "You can only visit the embassy once a week - Ultra Rule", I finally managed it, thanks to all the donators who helped me achieve this. So that's the good news, visa is applied for! In two months it should be ready and I should be able to leave this swamp of a country once and for all. Now for the bad news.

Once I reported to my employer that the application was submitted I got this:

"When the Employee Card will be submitted, there will be costs on travelling to Brno and also costs for the Employee Card which you will pick up here at the foreign police in Brno. The amount is 2.500 CZK.
Furthermore costs for the first 1.5 month of living in Brno as the first salary will be in paid out on the 15th of the following month.

Now you have at least two months to safe money for these costs, so I am sure, you will manage it."

So, wow, now that I got the job, applied for my visa, I still have costs. By my calculations it's: 2.500 CZK= 100€ for the card, 150€ for a trip to Brno, costs for living in Brno for a month and a half= ~250€, life expenses until I can finally start working= ~100€.

I love how she pretends like I don't live in a 3rd world country with no social security and a ~60% unemployment rate, so like I can save something.

I feel bad for this, but I can only depend on people following our blog and our releases to help me out, since I have no family or friends. We will put a "Rinshan Final Survival Foundation" bar on our blog with the goal of 550€. My life is in your hands.

Since I want to feel like I earned the money, I'm happy to announce that our group is picking up its THIRD SERIES soon, look forward to it!!

I will spend all my energy and time working on these beautiful manga in hope that I will earn an opportunity to leave this messed-up country once and for all and finally go back to civilization. Thanks everyone for reading, hope you enjoy our work, we're doing our best!

Volume 3 complete!!! Volume 4 is coming out next month, so Kirinji will continue in ~25 days. During that time I'll translate another manga, since I'm unemployed and don't have anything better to do anyway, so look forward to that!

We will do a big Kirinji fixing, where we will fix all the typos and mistakes from chapter 1 to 72 and reupload the chapters. I will also write my long due analysis for volumes 1-3 now that we have caught up with all the available volumes. It will be done in a few days, I need a break, this is the biggest marathon we did yet, 10 chapters in a row. See you soon, thanks for reading.
