Here's the new Aki chapter. The last chapter of Aki volume two might take 1 or 2 days since there's a lot of things at the end of the volume. I'll try to do it as fast as I can.
I completely disagree with that WWYD. The possible extra han from tanyao isn't worth the massive tile efficiency loss from discarding 1m. Not even in proleague a-rules. The only situation where aiming for sanshoku is warranted is a situation where you absolutely need a big hand.

Also Nikaido also addressed these points. First she said that 2p was the most efficient discard if you are aiming for the fastest hand. Then she says, "If we're aiming for high points...the answer is 1m" which is what you said.
Why are you even considering a riichi nomi??? Like oh wow, you have 5 more tiles to tenpai if you discard 2p. But except for 6m and 8m, all your tenpai outs are going to be trash hands. That is completely ridiculous.
Discarding 1m will give you a sanshoku if you pull in either 6m 8m or 3p, and sometimes with tanyao as a bonus. The decision is clear here. Only noobs who do not know how to aim for yaku and often riichi junk hands can possibly justify discarding 2p instead of 1m there.
