Tetsunaki no Kirinji Kabukichou Seiatsu Hen 94

Hi again!

We're back with another Kirinji chapter!

I missed scanlating so much, feels good to be back! Hope few of you still remember us after all the hiatuses! I've written some thoughts below about this chapter, since it's a story-heavy chapter.

Big thanks to xGeo for editing and fixing my translation mistakes!

Hope you enjoy the chapter!

Only 45 minutes until the end :O?

So,

In this chapter we have a lot of exposition.

Capone, as an ex-scoutman recognizes Fukada, and also knows he works for Gokusaka, which makes sense since Gokusaka was a regular at Raimontei and an investor. Capone is cool in the way he already knows why Fukada is there, but not only that, he also knows that Gokusaka wouldn't pick Kiriya as a rep-player, since Kiriya embarrassed him in Raimontei.

He also knows that Fukada already talked to all 3 candidates privately, which just shows how experienced and cool Capone is.

The most interesting reveal is that Hanako was actually the nurse taking care of Amakasu while he was hospitalized. Not only that, but she was the one who inspired him to live for something, pretty much like with Kiriya.

I don't believe Amakasu is romantically interested in Hanako, but it's interesting how everyone is connected, and now we have 3 different guys who got their souls saved by Hanako. Two are fighting for her heart, the small one is fighting for her attention.

This was an interesting reveal for me.

Even more interesting is, we finally learn why Tetsuo hates potatoes.

Honestly, this was shocking to me. We knew Tetsuo was a victim of domestic abuse and lived in a terrible household, but his father being a yakuza, and Yui MURDERING him was quite a shock.

This wasn't the first murder in TnK, Tomoko died in a fire after all, but it was the first direct murder. Making the series take a bit of a darker tone.

The original TnK was a light-hearted story about a dysfunctional family, and a man trying to fix his life after neglecting it for years. No murders, no yakuza, no brutal beating.

The sequel hinted toward a more darker tone already with the scene of Hato being beat up by yakuza, then Phil stabbing Utan, then Phil having his toenails ripped, etc. But now we have murder.

Since TnK doesn't end with Kabukichou Seiatsu Hen, I am not sure where Uhyosuke will take the series. I quite enjoyed the emotional light hearted original series, I also enjoy the sequel, but some readers might be put off by the violence.

Those who read King of Ants already know that Uhyosuke has a thing for violence and brutal imagery, I hope he won't put too much of it into TnK, since it's originally a story of a broken family.

Don't get me wrong, I still love this manga from the bottom of my heart, those are just my 2 cents for now, but I am sure Uhyosuke the author has some cool surprises for us ready.

Last thought: Yui seems to be a really interesting character and very similar to Hanako. The chapter is called "Two Goddesses" for a reason. Kiriya called Hanako his Goddess already in the Kabuking arc, Tetsuo has always been calling Yui his Goddess, and they seem to be two women who take care of other people unselfishly and help those who are lost.

I can't wait to learn more about Yui.

What a long post, sorry. See you soon!
