All I have to say about this volume really, is that it was definitely rushed, but everything was foreshadowed and nothing is really coming out of nowhere.
The problem is that people have forgotten all of the different plots, characters and story elements over time, so that all of this appears kinda random and forced. That is why I was suggesting that it is a perfect time to re-read all of Kirinji.
I know that this was the ending that the author had in mind for a long time, but he had to make it short.
But then again, brevity is the wit of soul, so it might have its own charm.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely agreed, it really feels rushed at the end - the middle part of Kirinji Gate was on par with the highs of the other two series, but it's a step down now sadly. But overall, it's still a great and fun read! Will be sad to see it end, especially if the match with Majin only lasts a couple of chapters, but will be worth reading every page
The only thing I am going to miss is a long, drawn-out game between Majin and Kiriya, where multiple and all kinds of strategies and mind games are used, on the level of the game between Phil and Kiriya. But I am still happy that all the original characters and early plot points are being tied in the end, with a bit of room for imagination for what happened in the background.
